7 tips to prepare your car for warm weather

Heat is just as dangerous to your car as cold or snow. Take proper care of your car not only in winter, but also in the warm season.

  1. Try the air conditioner before it’s too hot outside. It’s really not comfortable to drive a car without air conditioning on a hot day. If you notice that the air is coming out but not cold enough, something may be wrong.
  2. Check the tire pressure. Sudden changes in temperature can cause tire pressure to fluctuate. If the pressure is above or below your vehicle’s recommended PSI, your tires will begin to wear unevenly.
  3. Make sure there is enough coolant in the radiator. If you have an older vehicle it would be useful to keep extra coolant in the car.
  4. Record when you change oils. If you don’t change your oil regularly, you should at least have extra oil in the trunk in case of a breakdown.
  5. Test the battery. Car batteries can die at any time of the year, not just in winter.
  6. Change the windshield wipers and fluid. It’s a good idea to have extra window fluid in your car.
  7. Wash the car. Road salt and grime from melted snow can seriously damage your car’s paint and chassis.
